In total 62 heritage sites across the UK have been awarded a prestigious Sandford Award. The award recognises heritage sites which have achieved excellence for their education work.

Sites recognised range from urban centres, such as the Science Museum in London, for its online game that allows students to build their own sustainable home, to bubbly fun at the Roman Baths, Bath.

The awards ceremony and celebration took place in the glittering St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle, also a Sandford recipient this year, is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world.

Teachers can experience a night at the castle during one of their Twilight Evenings. These evenings allow teachers to explore the castle at their leisure and gain a taste of the learning experience available for your students.
