A new toolkit for teachers: ‘Our school building matters’ will help you make the most of the learning opportunities created by building a new school or refurbishing an existing one.

The ‘Our school building matters’ toolkit (52-pages) contains teaching activities relevant for key stages one through to three and all core curriculum subjects. The activities are organised across five stages that will occur in any school build or refurbishment:
- getting started
- looking closely
- development and design
- construction
- moving in
Within the toolkit schools will encounter a crash course in architecture along with a range of original activities directly linked to the curriculum. These teaching activities will lead to memorable learning whatever the school or the extent of change.
‘Our school building matters’ draws on expertise from CABE and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT). It has also been endorsed by the National Primary Headteachers’ Association (NPH).
