The celebration event will showcase a series of ‘next practice’ projects which use buildings and places as a teaching resource. The overall aim of the day is to show how Engaging Places supports young people to be successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
Speakers at the event
Young people will be presenting their exciting learning projects to an invited audience and the keynote address will come from Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
Also speaking at the event will be the QCA’s David Gardner, who has been working with the Engaging Places network form the outset. He’ll be talking about how the Engaging Places project can change the way young people live and learn.
Film screening
An exciting part of the day will be the screening of a film made by one the Engaging Places network projects, with help from a professional production company. The fun and illuminating video follows the Engaging Places project at St Pius X Catholic High School in Rotherham.
The day will conclude with a display of all the Engaging Places network projects and a drinks reception.
