The Find Your Talent initiative was officially launched in 10 pilot areas across England in September 2008, with funding from several government departments.

Alongside major government initiatives such as Creative Partnerships, Find Your Talent is part of the government’s commitment to developing a comprehensive cultural offer for young people.
The big idea is to give all children and young people the chance to take part in at least five hours of high-quality culture a week both in and out of school no matter where they live or what their background is.
Research found that participation in cultural activities gives young people the chance to develop important skills such as creativity, confidence, self-discipline, effective communication and good teamwork skills. Cultural engagement can also help young people to achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes.
£25 million has been set aside over the next three years to establish Find Your Talent.
In the 10 pilot areas, young people will have regular involvement with arts and culture and partner organisations will trial different ways of delivering a comprehensive offer. Visit the Find Your Talent website to find out more.
