The Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge

The Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge provides for the first time a national accreditation combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into one easily recognisable and trusted award for all types of learning outside the classroom provider organisations.

Who is the LOtC Quality Badge for?
It is for organisations and venues that provide learning outside the classroom experiences for children and young people aged 0-19, where they are:

• Offering good quality teaching and learning experiences; and
• Safe (i.e. managing risk effectively).

The LOtC Quality Badge assists schools in identifying external LOtC providers who deliver good quality teaching and learning experiences and manage risk effectively, thereby reducing the red tape that is often percieved as a barrier to learning outside the classroom. Whether you provide adventurous activities, field studies or learning experiences at museums, theatres, farms, places of worship or any other suitable venue the LOtC Quality Badge is for you!

Come along to one of our LOtC Quality Badge workshops!
If you’d like to know more about the LOtC Quality Badge and how to apply we’ll be running workshops in your area to guide you through the process. The workshops will:

• Explain what the LOtC Quality Badge is all about and how your organisation will benefit from becoming accredited.
• Guide you through the application process and explain how the six Quality Indicators are measured – you’ll leave feeling confident about your next steps towards accreditation.

Each of our workshops will be held at accredited venues and you’ll be able to see their LOtC provision at firsthand. Workshops are priced at £75 per delegate, this includes a deduction of £50 from the LOtC Quality Badge registration fee if you apply within three months of the course date. Please note, places are limited to one person per organisation. Book soon to avoid disappointment.

15th December @ 1:30pm: Bristol Zoo Gardens, Somerset
