Cambridgeshire Environmental Education Service (CEES)
Cambridgeshire Environmental Education Service (CEES) aims to bring learning to life by working with schools to:
Improve knowledge and understanding about the environment
Offer first hand experience in the environment
Develop skills through the environment
Encourage informed concern and action for the environment and for sustainable lifestyles.
We offer a wide range of curriculum-linked courses for every class at our specialist Environmental Education Centres at Stibbington, Upware, Wisbech and Coldham.
We also offer support for Eco Schools and Sustainable Schools, learning resources for teachers, workshops in schools, a school grounds development service, professional development opportunities for adults, regular newsletters and occasional special events, and the hire of our residential centre at weekends and school holidays.

Exploring a Locality

Exploring the rural locality (or urban at Wisbech) around the Centre and using photographs and a map to collect information and data about the locality, including buildings, traffic and land use.
How to obtain
All Day Courses: £260 per class (including tuition fee £200). Courses are tutored by CEES’ specialist, experienced, qualified teachers. Fees are based on a ratio of one member of CEES teaching staff per class of up to 34 pupils, with free places for adults at CEES’ recommended ratios. 2 classes may be accommodated daily at Stibbington and Upware, and one at Wisbech and Coldham.
The charges quoted here are applicable to all Cambridgeshire Local Authority Schools. Other schools and organisations are very welcome to use CEES Courses and Services on payment of a single subscription fee per year.

Investigating a Rural Locality

Introducing techniques and methods for investigating a rural locality, and collecting a variety of data for comparison with the school locality, including buildings, land use, environmental quality and traffic.

Urban Locality, Past, Present and Future

Data collection course for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils in the old town centre and in the new harbour development at Wisbech, including land use classification, environmental quality, field sketching and using historical documents.
