England’s Past for Everyone is a local history project run by the Victoria County History (funded by Heritage Lottery Fund). Volunteers throughout the country are working alongside authors and researchers to produce a whole range of new resources. From a series of books to learning resources for schools, it’s all about bringing local history to life.

Find the section of the website where you can explore by person. Look through the list of people who are featured and choose one who interests you. Then look through the lists of buildings and/or landscapes and choose one that catches your eye. In a small group make up a story imagining how your chosen person could have interacted with your chosen building/place.
