The Earth Trust manages over 300 hectares of beautiful South Oxfordshire countryside, including Little Wittenham Nature Reserve and Wittenham Clumps, a conservation farm, and a woodland dedicated to forestry research.

Come and explore our site... take a self-guided walk around the iconic Clumps with their magnificent views, go on a woodland adventure or attend one of our year-round events.

The Earth Trust also runs a popular education programme, with workshops and sessions available for school and community groups. Please get in touch or see our website for more information.

Come Out and Play at Cholsey

As part of Cholsey Parish Council's launch of their Fun in the Park summer activities, with support by The First Step Forward, Come Out and Play with Earth Trust at Cholsey Pavilion Park. Discover more about the wildlife that lives in the park and have fun in the great outdoors with a nature detectives trail, wild art, mud kitchen and more! Plus: under-5s activities with The Happy Hub Children's Centre, and meet Cholsey's wildlife expert Paul Chandler.

This event is free thanks to support from Whittard, through TOE2, with funds raised from the 5p plastic bag charge.

Creepy Crawly Comics

You’ll be the bees’ knees at creepy crawly comic drawing after attending our session with popular cartoonist Neill Cameron, whose work features in The Phoenix comic. You’ll explore the nature reserve and then create a comic inspired by what you saw. For 7-11 year olds; parents welcome to stay.

Fruit Tree Pruning and Grafting

Two workshops covering both the theory and practice of fruit tree pruning and grafting with expert Andy Howard.
Saturday 12th: Pruning
The session on Saturday will cover pruning topics, including: the history of pruning; why we summer prune and how it maximises your fruit growth; cordons, fans, espaliers, step-overs and how to do them; how a tree grows, root stock sizes and vigour affect pruning; summer vs winter pruning.
Sunday 13th: Grafting
On Sunday, we'll cover grafting: the history of budding; when and how to collect and store scion wood; different types of rootstocks and reasons for selection; different methods of summer budding and their pros and cons; best tools to use; the best methods for sealing the graft; plant aftercare and how to make sure your graft takes. You will take home a grafted tree.
